Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced that they are starting the Mobile Number Portability in India from next month following the deadline provided by TRAI last mont.
According to BSNL they are in shape with all the infrastructures required for MNP and they are ready to start the service. They have stated that they will successfully start the MNP service before 31st October 2010. Using the MNP service, Mobile Users can retain their mobile numbers in case they switch their mobile operators.
BSNL Chairman and MD, Gopal Das Quoted "We are ready with the infrastructure and will meet this deadline."
However, Private Operators are yet to announce their take on the same. Let us wait and watch.
