Samsung launched their cheapest touchscreen mobile phone, Samsung Champ in India. Here is a review of Champ by Tech Expert Mayank Sehgal
Quick Summary
The Samsung Champ is the most affordable touchscreen handset with some appealing abilities and apps onboard. It best suits the on – move – Youth.
Build
Samsung C3300 is a packed- in entry-level phone with touchscreen in the Crystal Design. The “Champ” has a 2.4-inch touch screen with 320 x 240 resolution and includes a Touch Wiz lite interface. The Champ’s screen is resistive rather than capacitive.
By being cheapest touchscreen available in the market, it sheds the assumptions of being Chinese look alike, instead the handset looks impressive. The handset is curved with shortcut keys on the front for making and ending calls, and refreshing the screen. The back of the Champ is smooth and should make for comfortable holding as you press and swipe the screen.
The Champ is available in four colors, Brown, Black (for the cool guys), pink (for the churpy girls) and then there is White – ‘evergreen’ and in.
Touch Wiz lite offers the same support for widget and apps which Samsung offers in most of their feature phones like Star, Corby Series or the next revolution phones – Wave & Galaxy S.

With the Samsung C3300 you can amass up to 1000 contacts. There is an organizer, voice memo and a built-in browser on the phone. The battery is pretty powerful with a talk-time of up to 12 hours and standby time of 666 hours.
Considerations
The Samsung Champ does not carry 3G or Wi-Fi, using the social networking tools would get time-consuming at times.
Conclusion
Compact and light, the Samsung Champ looks perfect. Definitely, it would suit the College going youth, being on a tight budget but still getting a social networking-enabled device with effective media capabilities. The battery life is good too, which means longer songs listening time, longer messaging time. Plus a wrist brand to fix the phone on your arm makes it even more appealing to Samsung’s target Audience.
WELL DONE SAMSUNG, ONCE AGAIN…..
