HTC Evo 4G Review
HTC Evo 4G Review
There are so many features packed into this one device, it is hard not to fall in love with the technical one. For example, the HTC Evo 4G has an 8 megapixel camera that can record HD video in 720p resolution. Add to that a front camera for video chatting face with loved ones, and this should be enough to satisfy even the most technical of the hungry crowd. Video chat, incidentally, is another first for mobile Americans. The fun does not stop there though.
Evo 4G is included with YouTube HQ first player on a mobile phone that allows users to watch HD videos on YouTube near quality. You can also watch these videos, and those recorded with your new HD camera to your TV via HDMI output port Evo. Still not done ...
The HTC Evo 4G is not just having a fast CPU is only fast in itself. Originally shipping with Android 2.1, which was already fast, the Android phone is now 2.2, another first for Android phones, significantly increasing the overall performance of telephones, and adding a slew of useful features. The HTC Evo 4G Android 2.2 browser is now the fastest mobile browser on the market, even beating Apple's iPhone Safari browser to test the most speed.
Speaking of Android 2.2, HTC said its interface to the mix making Sense Android even more customizable. The Sense interface is elegant and fast, and customizable widgets and applications designed only for HTC Android phones, including seven home screens. In addition to having seven home screens, you are able to set up different "scenes" that lets you set up your phone with customizable templates depending on whether you're at work, home, travel or anything else your heart desires. One of the best features HTC Sense is the contact management system. Contacts can be linked to their Facebook, Twitter, Flckr and other accounts. Once connected, you can view their updates, photos, text messages and emails from all contact from their touch screen!
Android 2.2 for HTC EVO 4G also supports Exchange Active Sync for contacts, email, and calendar. You can also use a Gmail account to sync the same elements, so free to give any back ups based cloud and sync. Getting sick of your pesky iPhone does not support Flash, Android 2.2 fully supports Flash 10.1 for a truly complete mobile Web experience. To add to that the mobile Web experience 4G Evo runs on the Sprint 4G WiMax network, reaching speeds that rival home connections High Speed Internet. Another good aspect of its ability to 4G is that the phone can act as a 4G/3G WiFi hotspot, allowing multiple devices to connect, and share its website.
With all these good things, the phone is not 100% perfect, with a couple of minor complaints. The first is that Sprint requires a $ 10 service charge per month for the 4G Evo, as it can connect to its 4G network. This is not a problem if you are in a city 4G, but since it's only available in some markets, you get a little ripped off if you can even use it. The good thing about it is that it comes with unlimited data, instead of being capped at 5 gig use. Finally the battery of the 4G Evo is very poor in general do for about half a days worth of heavy use. With use of light, it can last all day but, but will do it? There is also a bit of a learning curve, but only because it's so customizable ... which is a good thing!
The Android 2.2 powered HTC Evo 4G is the complete package. So much so that I left some of the features of this revision for the sake of keeping short, and you can be even more attractive when you look!
