Nokia 500 Smartphone in India Soon

Nokia in a bid to compete with latest Android powered smartphones, launched their latest smartphone, Nokia 500 with a 1Ghz Processor. Nokia 500 has become the first Symbian mobile phone to have a 1Ghz processor. It comes with the Symbian Anna Operating system, making it the second smartphone of Anna OS after recently launched Nokia E6. Nokia 500 is an entry level smartphone with an expected price of Rs.7,500. The features are moreover same as previouslty launched Nokia C5-03. The major features includes 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. The launch date and price is not finalized for India, however it is expected in India by September end.
Ergonomics:
Nokia 500 is quiet a giant device having 111mm of length and 14mm thick but the good part is that it still weighs a mere 93g. It has a decent surface finish and quiets a serious rectangular block look having edges that are hardly curved. It’ll be available in black and white colors for the moment but more colors will be available by the end of this year.

Display:
With a low entry device you can’t expect something like Super AMOLED but nevertheless Nokia 500 features a decent 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen with resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and 16M color support. It also has an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn off.

Processor and OS:
The phones comes with a powerful 1GHZ processor which is the probably the best part of the device. It features the Nokia own latest ANNA OS.

Camera:
It features a decent 5MP camera with resolution of 2592х1944 pixels with geo tagging features. It is able to record VGA video at 15fps. The lack of LED flash with a 5MP camera is something that many Nokia fans would regret.

Storage:
The internal storage capacity is 2GB and the external memory extendable up to 32GB via SD memory card. Unlimited contacts can be stored in the phonebook and it keeps the call records.

Connectivity:
The phone features Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, and micro USB v2.0.

Nokia is also offering its latest version of maps that are optimized for social networks. The Pedestrian and offline navigation will help future Nokia customers to avoid high data transfer roaming cost in more than 80 countries
